Kim joined OMERS in 2001, with an initial focus on credit analysis. He was steadily promoted to Managing Director and, up until 2019, managed a credit portfolio of $10 billion. Presently, he is working with the OMERS Economic Research team, led by Robert Lavigne, and assisting with the development of a sovereign rating platform.
Before his arrival at OMERS, Kim worked for Sun Life of Canada for 15 years, performing credit analysis, undertaking one-off special situations, and managing a $1.0 billion municipal portfolio.
Kim holds degrees in History and Finance from the University of New Brunswick.
Kim has been married 32 years to Anne (neé Fraser). They have two children – Martha, an OMERS plan member, and Grahame. Presently, the household has two dogs, Sadie (yellow Lab) and Bruin (we are not sure).
